NVIDIA's Autonomous Systems and Physical AI Research (ASPIRE) group is seeking top Research Scientists to advance the field of intelligent machines for autonomous vehicles, robotics, and physical AI. This role focuses on fundamental research challenges, including developing new training paradigms, ensuring safety and reliability in critical applications, enabling navigation in novel environments, and building systems that reason and interact safely with humans and other agents. Researchers are encouraged to publish their work and contribute to open-source projects, collaborating with internal product teams and external researchers to influence real-world products while pursuing groundbreaking research.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement cutting-edge techniques for autonomous vehicles, robotics, and physical AI.
- Conduct original research and publish findings.
- Collaborate with research colleagues, internal product teams, and external researchers.
- Transfer developed technology to relevant product groups.
Requirements
- Completing or recently completed a PhD in 2026 in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant research experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, embodied AI, or autonomous systems.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle or robot autonomy theory and practice, or expertise in a related area with a strong interest in applying it to autonomous systems.
- Track record of research excellence demonstrated through publications at leading conferences/journals and open-source software.
- Exceptional Python programming skills.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, research-focused team.
