Nunchux AI is building infrastructure to make multimodal generative AI faster, cheaper, and easier to build upon. We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineer focused on post-training and evaluation to enhance the efficiency and quality of visual generative models. In this role, you will develop and validate post-training techniques, curate and manage data pipelines for training and evaluation, and build robust evaluation systems to measure model performance. You will also benchmark models against industry standards, ensure quality, and integrate cutting-edge research into production workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate post-training recipes for image and video generation models.
- Curate and version training and benchmark data for post-training and model evaluation.
- Create benchmarks, automated judges, and run human preference studies to measure generation quality, fidelity, and efficiency.
- Benchmark models against baselines, detect quality regressions, and provide evidence for release decisions.
- Integrate relevant post-training and evaluation research into team pipelines.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with image or video generation models, or other multimodal visual systems, understanding their artifacts and failure modes.
- Deep expertise in either post-training methods (e.g., distillation, LoRA) or the evaluation of visual generative models.
- Strong Python and PyTorch skills for building maintainable post-training or evaluation code.
- Experience running and adapting multi-GPU post-training workloads using tools like FSDP or DeepSpeed.
- Ability to design experiments, interpret results, and make practical recommendations.
