Notion is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Mobile AI team to lead efforts in making Notion AI genuinely useful on phones and tablets. This role is crucial for ensuring AI functionality is seamless during user interactions like idea capture, quick checks between meetings, and task completion away from a desk. The position is based in either San Francisco or New York City, with a hybrid work model requiring in-office presence on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for collaborative work.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the roadmap for Notion’s core mobile AI features, including chat, capture, agent workflows, workspace Q&A, and lightweight creation flows.
- Guide mobile AI ideas from exploration to shipped product, leveraging prototypes, user feedback, and product data.
- Enhance the production quality of mobile AI by addressing instrumentation gaps, reliability risks, and performance bottlenecks.
- Establish robust technical foundations to facilitate fast iteration across mobile, web, and server components.
- Lead and grow a team of engineers, fostering an inclusive environment and clear communication.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams and shipping high-quality products at scale.
- Hands-on technical leadership with the ability to guide architecture, performance, reliability, and release decisions.
- Curiosity and hands-on experience with AI tools, understanding their impact on product development and workflows.
- Ability to translate open-ended product concepts into clear strategy, staffing, and delivery plans.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills to collaborate with various teams.
- Experience in recruiting, coaching, and developing engineers.
