The Conversation Engine team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to scale and optimize a cutting-edge Generative AI product that provides instant assistance to enterprise users. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the core of Moveworks' Generative AI product, focusing on its scalability and optimization for the enterprise solution space. You will be encouraged to bring innovative ideas to solve complex problems, collaborating closely with machine learning experts and cross-functional teams. The challenge involves scaling the conversation engine to support hundreds of millions of users across multiple chat channels and use cases, while enhancing the end-to-end product infrastructure with high engineering quality and robustness.
Responsibilities
- Construct product infrastructure with user-friendly interfaces for customizing and optimizing generative AI models, including data collection, adaptation to enterprise use cases, and delivery of domain-specific conversational experiences.
- Design scalable API abstractions for the conversation platform supporting popular chat clients and providing a neutral API for other engineering systems.
- Optimize the dialog engine for conversational features, leveraging private domain knowledge and enabling real-time multilingual translation with minimal memory footprint and low latency.
- Champion best practices for coding patterns, API design, scalability, robustness, and optimization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Implement a robust logging and tracing framework, debugging tools, and automated metrics for monitoring and analysis of the conversational AI product's performance.
- Collaborate with ML engineers, application engineers, product teams, and customer support to drive new feature development and scalability initiatives.
Requirements
- Strong foundation in computer science and software engineering with expertise in building scalable systems.
- Deep understanding of clean, modular, and scalable API design, with the ability to champion best coding practices.
- Passion for optimizing systems and improving performance, with proficiency in tracing, logging, and metrics frameworks.
- Ability to independently research new requirements and develop innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for articulating rationales and design approaches.
- Cross-functional awareness for seamless collaboration with various teams.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
- 7+ years of professional development experience, specifically in building systems at scale.
