Modal is building the next infrastructure layer for AI, enabling companies to serve low-latency inference, fine-tune models, and access production-ready sandboxes at scale. We are seeking a Revenue Operations Manager with a strong track record and a builder's mindset to join our in-person team in New York or SF. This high-impact, hands-on role involves owning the entire revenue operations function, from lead routing through deal closure and commission administration. You will collaborate closely with finance and sales leadership to establish the systems, dashboards, and processes necessary to scale our go-to-market strategy.
Responsibilities
- Own the lead routing process and partner with marketing for proper attribution.
- Manage territory strategy for geo-based decisioning.
- Support and strategize all aspects of revenue operations within your territory.
- Own capacity forecasting strategy, including inputs, throughputs, and outputs, acting as a liaison with finance.
- Develop input and strategy for compensation-based decisioning and benchmarking.
- Support leadership in regional operations and finance strategy across sales, pre-sales, and ecosystem functions.
- Evaluate new market tools to improve sales team efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build and maintain dashboards, leaderboards, and pipeline reporting for real-time leadership visibility.
- Monitor deal progression and ensure CRM hygiene and accuracy.
- Support deal reviews at pricing and negotiation stages, coordinating with legal counsel.
- Own the closed-won process from signature to post-sale handoff.
- Administer commission plans, ensuring accurate and timely calculations and serving as the source of truth for compensation inquiries.
Requirements
- 3–7 years in Sales Operations or Revenue Operations at a high-growth usage-based sales organization.
- Experience building core GTM infrastructure: lead routing, CRM architecture, pipeline reporting, commission administration, deal desk.
- Deep proficiency in workflows, lifecycle stages, custom properties, and data hygiene.
- End-to-end ownership of commissions, including model building, payout calculation, dispute resolution, and reconciliation with finance.
- Experience running a deals desk, understanding contract requirements, and identifying errors proactively.
- Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including building pipeline coverage models and identifying key metrics.
- Proven ability to earn trust with a sales team by improving their efficiency while ensuring process adherence.
