Modal is building the next infrastructure layer for AI, enabling developers to run AI-generated code at scale. Our platform provides instant GPU access, sub-second container starts, and native storage, simplifying the deployment of low-latency inference, model fine-tuning, and production-ready sandboxes. We are seeking our first Developer Relations Engineer focused on Modal Sandboxes to create and distribute unique, educational, and practical technical content. This role is crucial for establishing Modal as a trusted resource for developers implementing new AI technologies and showcasing the power and developer experience of our platform.
Responsibilities
- Create and distribute high-quality technical content (videos, cookbooks, integrations, mini-apps) demonstrating Modal Sandboxes for LLM-powered code execution, vibe-coding, and RL environments.
- Educate developers on incorporating the latest AI advancements into their work.
- Present Modal and related tools at developer events.
- Engage with the user community online (X, LinkedIn, Slack) and at in-person events.
- Develop relationships, integrations, and joint marketing initiatives with other developer-focused companies.
- Set and track objectives aligned with the Go-To-Market team's goals.
Requirements
- Experience building AI systems that execute generated code in isolated environments (e.g., vibe-coding platforms, background agents).
- 3+ years of software engineering experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with ML, LLMs, or agentic systems.
- Passion for the AI developer community and helping developers adopt new technologies.
- Excellent technical communication skills.
- Metrics-driven approach to prioritizing initiatives.
- Willingness to work in person in NYC, SF, or Stockholm offices.
- Creative thinking for compelling technical content.
- Existing developer following on social media is a plus.
