Magic Patterns is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join their lean, product-focused team in San Francisco. The company's mission is to empower anyone to build delightful software, and this role will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve in design. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI agent technology, including self-improving agent loops and advanced context engineering, contributing directly to a product used by thousands of users daily.
Responsibilities
- Own the eval system that feeds into the self-improving agent loop.
- Define and push the limits of AI capabilities in design.
- Collaborate with the product team to enhance agent quality from a user perspective.
- Determine priorities for improving the AI Design agent.
Requirements
- Experience using AI tools in a daily workflow.
- Experience with AI models and/or working on an AI agent.
- Experience building eval systems, post-training, and context engineering.
- Strong first-principles thinking to distill complex problems.
