About the job

We are seeking an engineer to build security directly into our AI-native product, rather than auditing it externally. You will write production code, implement fixes, and possess a deep understanding of system architecture to identify and address vulnerabilities. Our platform operates AI-moderated video interviews at a massive scale, serving companies and soon, AI agents themselves. Security is paramount to earning the trust of our users as we integrate Listen into various tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement protections for sensitive data, including encryption, access boundaries, retention, and abuse resistance.
  • Ensure multi-tenant isolation by maintaining boundaries between different user roles and studies.
  • Threat model AI-native attack surfaces, including prompt injection, data exfiltration, and LLM-specific failure modes.
  • Develop authentication, authorization, and API surfaces for programmatic and agentic callers.
  • Build secure-by-default libraries, patterns, and CI/CD pipelines for security scanning.
  • Conduct design and code reviews, and write production code to implement security fixes.
  • Identify and address vulnerabilities in web and backend systems.
  • Contribute to the development of secure API designs.
  • Manage secrets and ensure supply chain hygiene.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in a modern backend stack, with experience in TypeScript and Terraform.
  • Ability to read, write, and review production code.
  • Understanding of system design and failure modes, including OWASP Top 10.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth/OIDC, sessions, RBAC).
  • Familiarity with cloud and infrastructure security basics.
  • Experience with secure API design and common vulnerability classes.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about AI and LLM security.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written communication skills for explaining complex ideas and risks.

Benefits

  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • FSA/HSA and life insurance
  • Meaningful equity ownership
  • Annual learning stipend for books, courses, conferences, etc.
  • Annual wellness stipend for gym memberships, race fees, etc.
