About the job

Legora is seeking its first SaaS Enablement & Governance Lead to manage the entire lifecycle of the company's SaaS and AI portfolio. This role will oversee everything from initial intake to renewal and decommissioning, focusing on areas where risk and sprawl often accumulate. You will partner with FP&A, Procurement, and Security to ensure the software estate meets the high standards expected by Legora's legal professional customers. The ideal candidate will leverage automation and AI agents for repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on strategic judgment and decision-making, whether that involves commercial platforms or custom-built tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Own the single source of truth for all SaaS and AI applications, including licenses, entitlements, owners, and integrations, maintained through automated discovery.
  • Track software utilization against entitlements, reclaim inactive or duplicate licenses, and optimize the portfolio for cost savings.
  • Identify and manage shadow IT, shadow AI, expense report purchases, self-serve signups, and free-tier tools, ensuring they have an owner, risk posture, and renewal date.
  • Manage usage- and token-based pricing models, and forecast volatile AI spend.
  • Oversee the commercial and governance framework for AI tools, including a sanctioned vs. restricted catalog, licensing, and spend.
  • Enforce AI vendor terms related to data training, retention, confidentiality, and model changes.
  • Build agentic workflows for functions like discovery, license reclamation, renewal tracking, and provisioning.
  • Manage software and SaaS vendor relationships, providing input on roadmaps, handling escalations, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Establish a single point of contact for software and AI requests, creating streamlined processes that incorporate security, privacy, and spend policies.
  • Manage the renewals calendar for the entire software and AI portfolio, proactively identifying upcoming renewals.
  • Partner with Procurement on high-spend negotiations and manage commercial terms and true-ups for the long tail of applications.
  • Implement FinOps practices for software and AI spend, consolidating tools, retiring unused software, and managing decommissioning processes.
  • Manage SaaS configuration as code where feasible, ensuring auditability and version control.
  • Build integrations with SaaS APIs to support governance functions like discovery, utilization tracking, and provisioning.
  • Ensure all applications are onboarded to SSO and SCIM, and drive license reclamation based on employee lifecycle events.
  • Own SaaS-related SOC 2 evidence and third-party application governance.
  • Report on utilization, savings, renewal pipeline, AI spend, and compliance to IT leadership and Finance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software/SaaS asset management, IT vendor management, business systems, IT/enterprise applications, or IT procurement.
  • Demonstrated ownership of license and vendor management responsibilities.
  • Proven track record in cost optimization, including license rightsizing and renewal negotiation.
  • Experience with tool consolidation and managing the full software lifecycle.
