Legora is seeking its first dedicated Procurement hire in New York to build and optimize its intake-to-PO infrastructure from the ground up. This foundational role, reporting to the Head of Procurement, involves designing and implementing new processes on current platforms, then owning their day-to-day operation. The ideal candidate will work at the intersection of Finance, Legal, Security, and IT, directly contributing to the company's growth by bringing order to ambiguity and scaling purchasing processes beyond current Slack threads and spreadsheets. Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and launch the intake-to-procure process, including intake triage, approval matrices, vendor onboarding, PO creation, and fast-buy paths.
- Operate the procurement process day-to-day, identifying bottlenecks and resolving issues with minimal oversight.
- Identify opportunities to enhance procurement with AI agents, automation, and modern tooling, then build, deploy, and iterate on these solutions.
- Verify AI output with rigour, anticipating failure modes and building in checks.
- Support vendor master data quality and PO accuracy, troubleshooting disputes before they reach Accounts Payable.
- Provide guidance to internal teams and vendors on procurement tools, policy, and compliance.
- Build dashboards and reports to track procurement performance, surface trends, and translate spend data for leadership.
- Coordinate vendor security, privacy, and legal diligence to ensure timely purchase approvals.
- Drive adoption of new processes and tooling through cross-functional change management.
- Fold acquired companies' vendors and contracts into the central system and partner with global teams on local procurement needs.
- Create playbooks, an internal library of policy, templates, and vendor guidance, and how-to videos to enable self-service purchasing.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience in procurement operations, intake-to-PO processes, or an analytically rigorous operations role at a high-growth tech company.
- Direct experience building procurement processes from scratch, including intake, approval matrices, and vendor onboarding.
- Deep familiarity with procurement and P2P tooling (e.g., Ramp, Ironclad, Zip, NetSuite).
- Comfort building with and evaluating AI tools and agents, with the rigour to verify their output.
- Working knowledge of AP and payment processes.
- Strong business judgement and comfort resolving exceptions and managing ambiguity.
- A builder's mindset focused on designing scalable systems.
