About the job
Langfuse, now part of ClickHouse, is building an open-source LLM engineering platform focused on tracing, evaluation, and prompt management. We aim to be the 'Datadog' for LLM applications, addressing the complexity of building useful AI. Our platform is trusted by numerous Fortune 50 companies and has a significant user base with millions of SDK downloads. Joining ClickHouse allows us to accelerate product development and leverage data expertise. This role offers a unique opportunity to have a significant impact, working on open-source features visible to a large community. Product Engineers at Langfuse own features end-to-end, from understanding user problems to shipping solutions, gaining deep exposure to cutting-edge LLM application development.
Responsibilities
- Own features end-to-end, from user interaction and specification to shipping code, documentation, and changelogs.
- Work across the full stack, including React frontend, Next.js backend, ClickHouse analytics, Python and TypeScript SDKs, public documentation, and Terraform modules.
- Engage with users through calls, community channels, and support requests to inform product development.
- Write public documentation for owned features, recognizing documentation as a core product component.
- Participate in public 'Launch Weeks' to present newly built features to the community.
- Identify what to build, propose solutions (RFCs), and ship them, considering both user experience and technical implementation.
- Collaborate with team members for technical discussions and problem-solving.
- Experiment with new tooling and AI workflows.
Requirements
- Experience building features or entire products from scratch end-to-end.
- Experience building and shipping user-facing products end-to-end, ideally in TypeScript/React.
- Exposure to data-intensive backends.
- Ability to manage projects independently, develop conviction on what to build, and ship effectively.
- A strong sense of developer experience, including API design, UI details, and clear documentation.
- Interest in open-source software and engaging with developers.
- Ability to thrive in a small, accountable team environment.
- Familiarity with a significant portion of the tech stack (TypeScript monorepo, Next.js, Express workers, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, S3, Redis).
- CS or quantitative degree preferred.
