About the job

Langdock is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the shared capabilities that power their AI platform, which is used by over 10,000 companies. This role involves treating these capabilities as internal products, defining their interfaces, and ensuring their reliability, evolution, and operation. The work focuses on transforming complex functionalities like model access, agent execution, and data processing into stable, reusable building blocks. You will be responsible for a service from its initial design through its long-term operation, including defining APIs, planning migrations, deployment, and production support. This is an opportunity to build the foundational platform for European enterprises while maintaining their control over data and deployment environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own shared capabilities as internal products, defining interfaces and ensuring reliability, evolution, and operation.
  • Transform complex functionalities (model access, agent execution, authorization, queues, integrations, document processing, sandboxed compute) into stable, reusable building blocks.
  • Define clear contracts for each capability, allowing for independent evolution.
  • Own a service from design through long-term operation, including API definition, failure behavior, migration planning, implementation, deployment, observability, and incident response.
  • Work with Systems Engineers on new underlying mechanisms while remaining accountable for service boundaries and lifecycle.
  • Contribute to building a durable agent runtime that supports separated runtime from product-specific state and durable runs.
  • Develop the Model Gateway, creating an inference boundary for all Langdock products with a model-agnostic API.
  • Migrate selected capabilities from a monolith into independently operated services with Protobuf and gRPC contracts.
  • Enhance the integration and tool platform to ensure consistent authentication, token refresh, rate limits, approvals, network safety, and tool execution.
  • Define a consistent execution API, lifecycle, permission model, resource budgets, and operational boundary for code execution as a shared service.
  • Develop systems for production confidence, including load testing, structured logging, and online database changes for large tables.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with TypeScript, Go, Next.js, React, Tailwind, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Protobuf, gRPC, Kubernetes, Terraform, Terragrunt, Datadog, and Sentry.
  • Ability to pick up new technologies quickly.
  • Experience owning a service from design through long-term operation.
  • Experience defining APIs and failure behavior.
  • Experience planning migrations, implementing, deploying, and making services observable.
  • Experience responding to production incidents.
  • Experience working with Systems Engineers on underlying mechanisms.
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Terragrunt.
  • Experience with observability tools like Datadog or Sentry.
