LangChain is seeking a core maintainer for its Python Open Source team. This role involves maintaining and improving the LangChain Python package, focusing on building reliable abstractions for AI agents and integrating them with real-world systems. The team works closely with the open-source community, ensuring the core libraries remain stable, scalable, and production-ready. This position will significantly shape the developer experience for building AI applications with Python.
Responsibilities
- Improve the core abstractions and runtime of the LangChain and LangGraph packages.
- Enhance documentation across the LangChain ecosystem.
- Address user questions and resolve issues from the community.
- Develop example applications using LangChain to showcase production AI system development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering or applied machine learning experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, unstructured environment and identify impactful work.
- Ownership-minded approach with the ability to manage work efficiently and effectively without close supervision.
