LangChain is seeking a People Operations Specialist to serve as the West Coast presence for our globally distributed People Operations team. This role will be the anchor for People Ops during US hours, focusing on logistics, compliance, and hospitality. You will own the new hire's first week, acting as the face of HR and solving employee problems with a high degree of craft and agency. As our systems are still being built, you'll have a significant opportunity to influence and help set up the infrastructure for scaling our people operations.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end-to-end onboarding process, including pre-boarding tasks like documentation, account setup, and background checks.
- Facilitate bi-monthly in-person onboarding cohorts in San Francisco, covering compliance and employee experience.
- Manage the first 90 days support structure, including check-in cadences, buddy programs, and onboarding surveys.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions during US hours, resolving issues or routing them appropriately.
- Develop and maintain onboarding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring parity between in-office and remote onboarding.
- Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks within people operations using AI tools.
- Drive improvements in the onboarding process based on feedback and ticket volume analysis.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in people operations, HR coordination, or onboarding at a high-growth tech company.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems, with preference for Rippling.
- Working knowledge of I-9 and employment eligibility verification processes, including retention and audit requirements.
- Proficiency in documenting processes and creating usable SOPs.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to increase efficiency and leverage.
- Experience handling sensitive employee data, including compensation, immigration, and personal information, with discretion.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, build environment on a globally distributed team.
- Experience rebuilding or establishing an onboarding program is a plus.
- Immigration or visa coordination experience (H-1B, PERM, TN, or equivalent) is a plus.
- Global onboarding exposure is a plus.
- Experience with LangSmith, Claude, or similar tools is a plus.
