LangChain is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join its founding IT team in San Francisco. This role is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company's SaaS stack, including maintenance, configuration, and access management. The position also involves building automation to support the growing infrastructure and assisting employees with IT issues. The ideal candidate will have startup experience, be comfortable with ambiguity, and have a strong inclination towards automation, contributing to the development of AI-powered IT solutions.
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day administration of the SaaS stack, including maintenance, configuration changes, and license management.
- Administer LangSmith and use its APIs to automate administrative tasks.
- Administer identity and permissions across core SaaS platforms like Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Zoom, and Microsoft 365.
- Develop scripts, integrations, and reusable workflows using low or no-code tools.
- Connect systems through APIs and event-driven workflows to reduce manual work.
- Administer Okta and manage user access, including Okta group rules for RBAC policy.
- Establish repeatable standards and automation for employee lifecycle, group management, application provisioning, and access reviews.
- Administer the MDM platform (Iru) for policy configurations, patching, zero-touch deployment, and custom desktop environments.
- Automate the hardware lifecycle from procurement to recycling.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and support for hardware, software, networking, and SaaS tools to employees.
- Build and maintain the harness for an AI ITSM agent, including tools, playbooks, and knowledge.
- Write documentation and playbooks, and use support issues to guide automation efforts.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration or IT engineering, preferably at a fast-growing startup.
- Experience administering a broad SaaS stack including Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and AI tools like Claude and ChatGPT.
- Hands-on experience administering Okta, including SSO, SCIM provisioning, and Okta Workflows.
- Comfort with REST APIs, webhooks, and API authentication methods.
- Experience using coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) in daily workflows.
- Experience with a macOS MDM platform and endpoint security tooling.
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, wireless).
- Clear communication skills and patience for non-technical users.
