LangChain is seeking a Head of Narratives to own the company's presence across communications, brand, social, and design. This role requires a strategic thinker with an operator's mindset, capable of driving consistent messaging and editorial judgment to reach the right audiences at the right time. You will lead a team of experts in brand, social, and design, providing them with a unified narrative direction and ensuring the quality and consistency of all outgoing content. This is a player-coach position, involving both strategic direction and hands-on involvement in shaping editorial content, providing creative feedback, and writing.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the core themes and narratives LangChain should be known for, translating them into a cohesive communications strategy.
- Manage press and media relations, including building journalist relationships, securing proactive coverage, and handling inbound inquiries.
- Shape executive visibility and thought leadership by identifying key platforms and formats for leaders to share their perspectives.
- Lead the communication strategy for major company announcements, launches, funding rounds, and partnerships.
- Establish and maintain LangChain's brand voice and quality standards across all external communications.
- Collaborate with the brand lead to align brand direction, voice, visual identity, and messaging.
- Contribute to brand initiatives like awareness campaigns and out-of-home advertising, ensuring narrative and brand alignment.
- Partner with the social lead to ensure social media strategy amplifies core themes and narratives.
- Develop a shared vision for rich media formats (video, audio) to build audience and credibility.
- Analyze performance across content, comms, brand, and social to refine strategic direction and identify resonant narratives.
- Lead the creative direction for brand design, ensuring a consistent visual identity across all channels.
- Provide strong creative partnership and feedback to the brand designer to ensure high-quality execution.
- Develop and mentor the brand, social, and design team through close collaboration and constructive feedback.
Requirements
- Experience owning communications, brand, social, and design functions.
- Experience operating with a media company mindset, including continuous publishing and strong editorial judgment.
- Proven ability to set narrative direction and ensure output is sharp and consistent.
- Experience leading and developing a team of creative professionals.
- Player-coach mentality with the ability to both set strategy and execute hands-on.
- Strong opinion on what constitutes high-quality creative and narrative work.
- Experience in press and media relations, including building and managing relationships with journalists.
- Experience shaping executive visibility and thought leadership content.
- Experience planning and executing communications for major company events and announcements.
- Experience defining brand voice and quality standards.
- Experience collaborating with brand and design teams to align visual identity and messaging.
