About the job
LangChain is seeking a Deployed Engineer to join their team, focusing on building and running AI agents in production. This role involves partnering closely with customer engineering teams to transform prototypes into reliable, production-ready AI systems. You will work on challenging applied AI problems, contributing to the development of systems that real teams depend on, with a fast feedback loop and visible impact. The work directly shapes how AI agents are built and adopted in the real world, bridging the gap between engineering, product, and go-to-market strategies.
Responsibilities
- Co-architect and co-build production AI agents with customer engineering teams.
- Lead technical wins in pre-sales by designing POCs, answering technical questions, and guiding evaluations.
- Assist customers in deploying and operating agent-based applications like conversational agents, research agents, and multi-step workflows.
- Advise customers post-sale on architecture, best practices, and roadmap decisions.
- Conduct technical demos, trainings, and workshops for developer audiences.
- Gather field feedback and contribute reusable patterns, cookbooks, and example code.
- Contribute code upstream when it significantly improves customer outcomes.
- Travel to customers up to 40% of the time.
Requirements
- 6+ years in a relevant technical role (software engineering, customer engineering, solutions engineering, founding/product engineering), preferably in a startup or scale-up.
- Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and systems fundamentals.
- Experience designing agent-based or LLM-powered applications beyond simple API calls, including multi-step workflows, orchestration, and failure handling.
- Comfortable working directly with customers during POCs, architecture reviews, and technical evaluations.
- Ability to clearly explain technical tradeoffs and build trust with developer audiences.
- Demonstrated responsibility for outcomes.
- A bias toward action and enjoyment of problem-solving.
- Enthusiasm for operating AI agents in production.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Flexible vacation
- 401(k) plan
- Meals on in-office days
- Meaningful equity
- Variable compensation
