This role focuses on building a real-time AI copilot to assist live-commerce hosts who often manage multiple tasks simultaneously, leading to cognitive overload. The goal is to create a backstage system that enhances host performance across various platforms like eBay Live, Whatnot, TalkShopLive, and Amazon Live. The project involves developing tools for chat management, product information retrieval, inventory control, and post-show content generation, aiming to reduce backstage work while maintaining host authenticity and control.
Responsibilities
- Own the real-time system encompassing chat ingestion, retrieval, guardrails, operator UX, listing controls, and post-show outputs.
- Collaborate with AI Fund and users to select the initial platform, workflow, and success metrics.
- Design the automation ladder from draft support to host-controlled agentic replies, ensuring authenticity and seller trust are maintained.
- Make critical decisions regarding latency, availability, pricing, policy, tone, and escalation to ensure the safety of higher-autonomy features.
- Partner with AI Fund's build team on product strategy, technical risk assessment, and the transition from pilot to a comprehensive live-commerce operating system.
Requirements
- Strong full-stack engineering skills in real-time systems, operator workflows, integrations, and AI products.
- Demonstrated experience building Generative AI products, including retrieval, tool use, guardrails, evaluations, and production feedback loops.
- Possess product judgment for human-in-the-loop automation that reduces backstage work while keeping the host in control.
- Ability to iterate rapidly with external users and translate ambiguous feedback into concrete product decisions.
- Proficiency in using AI coding assistants and modern AI tools to accelerate implementation without compromising real-time logic.
- Must have US work authorization; visa sponsorship is not provided.
