- Conduct regular one-on-ones, provide feedback, and create career development paths for security engineers.
- Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, establishing a blameless post-incident culture focused on systemic improvements.
- Define and implement threat management frameworks to transform reactive security operations into proactive threat hunting and detection.
- Establish automation standards to eliminate repetitive work and enable the team to focus on novel challenges.

- Guide technology choices and evangelize new security tools, including pioneering AI-powered detection capabilities.
- Create data-driven insights to guide investments in preventative controls.
- Partner with Product and Platform engineering teams to evolve detection and response capabilities.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration during critical events and establish executive reporting.
- Drive weekly operations reviews to build institutional knowledge and define repeatable processes.
- Define sustainable on-call rotations and operational procedures for 24/7 coverage.
- Establish the team's 6-month strategic roadmap for D&R capabilities with defined success criteria.
