Principal, Data Center Supply Chain Lead

Responsibilities

• Own multi-year sourcing and category strategy for datacenter equipment and construction scopes.
• Partner with Construction, Design, and Development teams to align sourcing strategy with construction schedules.
• Procure long-lead datacenter infrastructure equipment, sequencing awards and deliveries to protect the critical path.
• Lead contracting strategy for construction delivery, selecting commercial models and negotiating with relevant parties.
• Serve as lead negotiator on high-value construction and equipment agreements.
• Own the owner-furnished equipment strategy, managing logistics, storage, warranty, and installation.
• Drive change order discipline across active construction projects, assessing claims and impacts.
• Identify and lead efforts for long-term cost reduction opportunities across equipment and construction categories.
• Build and own strategic partnerships with OEMs, contractors, and trade partners to secure capacity and drive innovation.
• Negotiate and provide strategic oversight of delivery commitments, milestones, and SLAs.
• Set standards for procurement and contract execution, serving as an escalation point and delivering executive-level briefings.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify and mitigate threats to schedule, cost, and safety.
• Oversee supplier and contractor performance management, including quality and safety.
• Define and execute strategy for industry and ecosystem engagement across the datacenter construction supply base.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on experience across end-to-end supply chain (planning, sourcing, logistics, fulfillment) and strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management (typically 10+ years, or 8+ with a Master's degree).
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience owning multi-year category strategies for complex, high-spend, supply-constrained areas.
• Proven experience as a lead negotiator, closing complex contracts.
• Experience setting process, policy, or governance standards and driving policy change.
• Experience with informal or indirect team leadership, coaching senior practitioners, and driving cross-functional consensus.
• Ability to brief and persuade executives and build business cases.
• Proficiency with data analysis for risk anticipation, impact modeling, and decision defense.
• Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, time-compressed, and supply-constrained environments.
• Experience working directly with construction teams (general contractors, CMs, design firms, specialty trades).
• Experience leading construction contracting and contract administration, including delivery models, negotiations, and change order management.
• Experience procuring long-lead datacenter or critical-facility infrastructure equipment and sequencing it against a construction schedule.
