Inworld is seeking a Founding AI Solutions Engineer to bridge the gap between sales, product, and engineering. This role is crucial for the revenue team, working directly with senior leadership and the Go-To-Market (GTM) team to guide enterprise and developer customers from initial interest to production deployment. You will be responsible for running Proofs of Concept (POCs), building prototypes, and translating complex technical concepts into clear explanations for diverse audiences. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape Inworld's scaling across various industries and define the Solutions Engineering function as an early hire.
Responsibilities
- Partner with GTM Leads on deals, including technical discovery, POC execution, and solution design from initial contact to deal closure.
- Develop working prototypes and reference integrations showcasing Inworld's TTS, STT, LLM Router, LLM inference, and Realtime API solutions within customer-specific contexts.
- Act as the primary technical advisor during customer onboarding, facilitating the transition from contract signing to production-quality integration.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for Product and Engineering teams.
- Address complex technical inquiries regarding latency, deployment options (on-prem vs. cloud), streaming architecture, and model selection.
- Create and maintain a repository of integration examples, demo environments, and technical collateral for the GTM team.
- Identify opportunities for customer expansion by understanding their current projects and potential for further Inworld integration.
- Contribute to defining the company's technical sales process as an early team member.
- Collaborate with GTM leadership to refine modern GTM and sales strategies.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Technical Account Manager.
- Strong hands-on coding proficiency, capable of writing production-quality integration code, with Python strongly preferred; JavaScript/TypeScript considered a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of AI/ML APIs, including experience with LLMs, speech models, and streaming APIs, with the ability to articulate trade-offs.
- Proven ability to manage technical POCs from initiation to decision.
- Excellent communication skills, adept at navigating both technical and business discussions.
- High degree of empathy and integrity in customer interactions.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and embrace change as an opportunity.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
