Interfere is building the self-healing layer of the internet, a software solution designed to detect broken product experiences, understand their root causes, and help teams fix them before users notice. We aim to bridge the gap between existing monitoring tools and the real-world product performance that engineers, PMs, designers, and founders care about. As a Founding Product Engineer, you will own end-to-end features, from data model to interface, architecting core systems and designing user-facing surfaces for engineers. You will play a crucial role in defining excellence for a new product category and shaping the company's standards.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end features, from data model to interface.
- Architect core systems.
- Design developer-facing interfaces.
- Build detection and diagnosis systems that reason about codebases and runtime behavior at scale.
- Develop interfaces that make complex system failures legible in seconds.
- Create pipelines that ingest, structure, and correlate billions of product events.
- Implement agentic workflows that triage issues and propose or ship fixes safely.
- Develop APIs and integrations for developer tools.
- Establish internal standards for code, design, and judgment.
Requirements
- Shipped production software that real users depend on, end to end, across the stack.
- Comfortable working across frontend behavior, backend systems, and their seams.
- Ability to take an ambiguous product or infrastructure problem, define the next step, and ship without a fully specified plan.
- Ability to explain complex system behavior clearly to engineers, designers, and PMs.
- Willingness to deeply understand hard problems rather than just route around them.
- Fluent in TypeScript and modern web tooling (Next.js, React, Node) is a plus.
- Experience with developer tools, observability, incident response, or session replay is a plus.
- Experience building or operating systems handling high-throughput event data is a plus.
- Shipped agentic or LLM-powered features into production is a plus.
- Strong depth in distributed systems or product/UI craft is a plus.
