Scale AI is seeking a Head of Financial Systems to lead the strategy, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of the company's finance technology stack. This role requires a builder-first leader who can combine enterprise architecture expertise with AI automation to streamline manual processes, strengthen financial data management, and empower the Finance team with the necessary speed and accuracy. You will serve as the primary technology partner to Finance leadership, holding ultimate accountability for the reliability, scalability, and intelligence of all systems involved in the financial close, revenue, and spend lifecycles.
Responsibilities
- Own the full lifecycle of the ERP environment, including architecture, configuration, integrations, and roadmap, ensuring support for core financial modules.
- Drive process excellence across Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay, identifying and resolving integration gaps between upstream systems and the ERP.
- Identify and implement AI/LLM-powered agents to automate manual finance workflows such as forecasting, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
- Design scalable data flows and APIs to integrate the ERP with adjacent finance tools, creating a cohesive and auditable ecosystem.
- Establish change management, data governance, and SLAs for financial systems to ensure audit readiness and SOX compliance.
- Partner with Finance leadership (CFO, Controller, FP&A, Accounting) to translate technical capabilities into business outcomes and align system roadmaps.
- Build and lead a high-impact Finance Systems team, fostering a culture of curiosity, speed, and user-centricity.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience leading finance systems or enterprise application functions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of ERP platforms (NetSuite preferred) across core modules.
- Strong understanding of Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay process design and ERP integration points.
- Strong understanding of SOX IT General Controls and experience implementing them.
- Proven track record designing and deploying AI/LLM-powered workflows or agentic systems.
- Ability to design and govern scalable integrations and data flows across SaaS tools.
- Experience influencing Finance leadership and translating technical complexity into business decisions.
- Proficiency in an iPaaS platform (e.g., Workato, Mulesoft, Boomi); Workato Certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python or SQL for prototyping, auditing, and quality-checking automation logic.
- Familiarity with adjacent Finance tooling (expense management, FP&A, billing, treasury).
