Responsibilities
- Integrate AI into customer workflows across web, desktop, mobile, and embedded experiences (Google Docs, MS Word, Outlook, Slack), and via API.
- Lead high-priority, multi-team engineering projects and define long-term technical strategies.
- Identify and prioritize business-critical problems, making significant tradeoff decisions efficiently.
- Develop AI platform capabilities including agent harnesses, custom agent/workflow building, tool calling, retrieval, memory management, personalization, and evaluation systems.
- Ship core systems for retrieval over petabyte-scale document corpora, scalable data ingestion, and secure data handling for sensitive matters.
- Develop across the full stack, including React, TypeScript, Python, and PostgreSQL, architecting intuitive UX and robust APIs.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and elevate the engineering standards across the organization.
Requirements
- 10+ years of post-BS/MS experience in a product-focused software engineering role at the Staff level or above.
- Deep expertise in full-stack, backend, or agents/AI, with broad applicability across domains.
- Proven experience building scalable, extensible systems supporting multiple product lines.
- Track record of shipping highly intuitive products in fast-growing SaaS environments.
- Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience building and shipping agentic systems (agent harnesses/loops, tool use, memory, evals), not just API calls.
- Experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) and understanding of their application in development.
- Ability to influence and align engineers and leaders outside of direct reporting lines.
- Strong programming skills and general Computer Science knowledge.
- Experience working in early-stage startups is a plus.
