About the job
As the Global Leader of Applied AI Architects for Beneficial Deployments, you will lead a team of Applied AI Architects who serve as the primary technical partners to mission-driven organizations and non-profits adopting Claude. You'll build and scale a world-class, globally distributed team that turns frontier AI into real impact in education, global health, economic mobility, and life sciences—while shaping how Anthropic's most important societal partnerships are designed and delivered. You'll combine deep technical fluency with the leadership judgment needed to operate across segments, regions, and partner types. You'll set the vision for how we scale our expertise and be accountable for the team, processes, and cross-functional relationships that make that possible. In collaboration with various teams, you'll help ensure our partners incorporate Claude responsibly and effectively, representing Anthropic as a senior technical leader on visible partnerships while maintaining safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead, grow, and mentor a globally distributed team of Architects supporting mission-driven non-profits.
- Set the vision, strategy, and operating model for Applied AI in Beneficial Deployments.
- Establish hiring plans, team structure, and career development paths for a scaling global team.
- Partner with segment leads and senior partner leadership to understand requirements and shape engagements.
- Drive the design of scalable mechanisms like cohort-based accelerators and Claude Code enablement programs.
- Identify patterns across partners to inform ecosystem-level development (MCPs, evals, reference implementations, shared infrastructure).
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to surface partner needs and influence the roadmap.
- Represent Anthropic externally with senior leaders at foundations, nonprofits, research institutions, and government-adjacent organizations.
- Travel globally to partner sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building (30-40%).
- Help shape team processes and culture, and contribute to the broader Applied AI leadership community.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in technical, customer-facing roles (e.g., Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer) with exposure to complex deployments.
- 7+ years of engineering or technical leadership experience, preferably building and scaling customer-facing teams globally.
- Experience working with or within mission-driven organizations (education, healthcare, research, global development, nonprofits) and understanding their constraints.
- Familiarity with common LLM implementation patterns (prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, agent frameworks, retrieval systems).
- Working knowledge of Python.
- Track record of building teams in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Strong executive presence and ability to foster trusted relationships with senior partner leadership.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and coaching abilities.
- Ability to think holistically, identify core principles, and clarify ambiguous problems.
- Passion for making powerful technology safe and beneficial, and for thinking creatively about risks and benefits.
