Glean is seeking a founding Forward Deployed Engineer to join their team and operate with the autonomy and accountability of a founder. This role involves discovering and building the next generation of product surfaces for Glean's Work AI platform. You will work in a pod with Forward Deployed PMs, collaborating directly with the C-suite of influential companies and Glean's internal engineering and product teams. This is a unique opportunity to identify and solve significant unsolved business problems at strategic customers by building entirely new products, thereby shaping the future of Glean. The most impactful solutions you develop will be scaled to all Glean customers worldwide, offering founder-level ownership with the backing of Glean's resources and scale.
Responsibilities
- Discover and build new product surfaces for Glean's platform, focusing on 0-to-1 product creation.
- Identify opportunities where Glean's platform can solve currently unmet problems, then design and ship solutions.
- Lead deep discovery into business problems to understand structural issues and identify areas of unsolved value.
- Develop hypotheses for solutions and pressure-test them with stakeholders.
- Act as a technical partner to C-suite executives, explaining technical concepts, rationale, and risks.
- Scale successful solutions to make them repeatable and broadly applicable.
Requirements
- Experience in building new products from scratch (0-to-1 product creation).
- Ability to deeply understand business problems and identify opportunities for AI solutions.
- Strong technical skills to design and ship new product features.
- Excellent communication skills to partner with C-suite executives and explain technical concepts.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects.
