Scale is accelerating the usage of frontier data and models by building complex agents for enterprises around the world through our Scale Generative Platform (SGP). The SGP ML team works on the front lines of this AI revolution, interfacing directly with clients to build cutting-edge products using proprietary research and resources. As an Applied AI Engineer, you will work with clients to create ML solutions to satisfy their business needs, ranging from AI cybersecurity firewalls to transformative AI experiences in journalism and applying foundation genomic models. Daily data-driven experiments will provide key insights to improve product performance, and you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the modern AI movement.
Responsibilities
- Own, plan, and optimize the AI for enterprise customer technical problems.
- Build advanced AI agents using SGP, including multimodal functionality and tool-calling.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Collaborate with customer teams and internal cross-functional teams.
- Push production code and debug code in customer and Scale codebases.
- Multi-task and learn new technologies quickly.
Requirements
- Solve complex technical problems with ambiguity using state-of-the-art research and AI.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a quantitative field, or equivalent engineering background.
- Deep familiarity with a data-driven approach to iterating on machine learning models.
- Experience with cloud technology stacks (e.g., AWS or GCP) and developing ML models in a cloud environment.
- Proficiency in Python for writing, testing, and debugging code using common libraries (e.g., numpy, pandas).
