Fireworks is seeking a Social and Community Manager to join their team. This role involves staying ahead of the rapidly evolving AI infrastructure landscape, identifying key trends, and shaping narratives. You will be responsible for making data-driven decisions, executing consistently across social and community channels, and transforming complex AI topics into shareable content. This is a hands-on position requiring strong judgment, creativity, and the ability to proactively engage and grow communities.
Responsibilities
- Track and judge conversations relevant to Fireworks in real-time, moving quickly on opportune moments with strong instinct for tone and timing.
- Frame narratives that encourage community and market discussion about Fireworks.
- Monitor social, Discord, and community platforms daily using analytics tools.
- Track key metrics (engagement, reach, sentiment, growth, community health) and use insights to recommend content changes and experiments.
- Create on-brand content informed by data, trends, and community feedback.
- Generate fresh formats for technical AI topics to make them shareable.
- Own the social calendar and ensure consistent content delivery.
- Moderate discussions, answer questions, welcome members, and foster helpful conversations.
- Support and help run community programs like Ambassador initiatives, newsletters, AMAs, and cohorts.
- Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen community connections.
- Help plan and execute virtual and in-person events and webinars.
- Measure event impact to improve future initiatives.
- Keep calendars, trackers, and dashboards meticulously organized.
- Share data-driven insights with marketing, product, and engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of hands-on experience in social media management or community management, with a preference for developer or AI communities.
- Sharp judgment on what content is worth reacting to and what to ignore.
- Track record of content or narratives that have gained traction.
- Strong excellence in data and analytics, including tracking metrics, interpreting performance, creating reports/dashboards, and using insights to guide execution.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to proactively identify trends and opportunities.
- Creative thinker capable of generating fresh content ideas and approaches while staying on-brand.
- Hands-on experience actively engaging and growing communities on platforms like Discord, Reddit, X, or forums.
- Experience with social and community analytics tools (native platforms and tools like Sprout Social or similar).
- Meticulous organization and strong project management skills.
- AI native, with daily use of LLMs and generative AI tools, and an understanding of developer workflows around models and inference.
- Strong execution skills: reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting or contributing to community programs and events (nice-to-have).
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure or open-source model communities (nice-to-have).
- Basic video or multimedia production skills (nice-to-have).
- Background in fast-paced startup environments (nice-to-have).
