Fireworks is seeking a Product Manager to focus on their AI training platform. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the strategy, defining product specifications, and directly engaging with customers to understand their real-world tuning challenges. You will collaborate closely with the training, research, and inference teams to deliver impactful solutions that enhance customer AI development. Example initiatives include driving growth in self-serve training usage and improving the speed and ease of training for enterprise clients.
Responsibilities
- Own the roadmap, strategy, and success metrics for parts of the Fireworks training product across API, UI, and CLI.
- Engage directly with AI-native startups and enterprises to understand their training workloads, resolve blockers, and translate pain points into product features.
- Develop scalable, self-serve products from bespoke work done by forward-deployed and applied ML teams for key accounts.
- Partner with product marketing, sales, and field teams to successfully launch training capabilities, including pricing, packaging, documentation, cookbooks, and enablement.
Requirements
- 2-8+ years of product management experience building technical or developer-facing products.
- Strong technical background, such as a CS/EE degree, production engineering experience, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the post-training lifecycle including dataset curation, SFT, LoRA/PEFT, RL-based methods, evaluation, and their connection to production inference.
- Demonstrated ownership of a product area from strategy and specification through launch and metrics.
- Excellent written communication skills, capable of producing clear specs, launch posts, and customer-facing explanations of tradeoffs.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias towards shipping and learning.
- High motivation and a willingness to step up, especially during intense periods.
