About the job
Fireworks is seeking a deeply technical, customer-facing Product Manager to join their team. In this role, you will work closely with key customers to understand their data, models, and workflows, and then design solutions to deploy them on the Fireworks platform. You will be comfortable engaging in technical discussions with engineers and strategic conversations with executives, owning customer success and high-priority projects from inception to completion. This position involves understanding customer needs, mapping their environments, designing tailored solutions, leading technical onboarding, and acting as a trusted advisor to shape their AI strategy.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to identify high-value AI use cases.
- Map customer environments including data, models, latency, cost, and infrastructure.
- Design and propose tailored solutions and proofs of concept on the Fireworks platform.
- Lead technical onboarding and implementation, including fine-tuning, benchmarking, API integration, and cost modeling.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers on their AI strategy.
- Convert initial customer interest into long-term usage and expansion.
- Own strategic customer engagements end-to-end.
- Manage high-priority, cross-functional initiatives like partnerships and model launches.
- Develop new go-to-market motions and repeatable playbooks.
- Build business cases and support sales in closing and growing key accounts.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, research, applied ML, sales, and field engineering teams.
- Share customer insights with engineering and research teams.
- Clearly explain complex technical trade-offs to diverse audiences.
Requirements
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a similar field.
- Prior experience in software engineering or another technical role.
- Product management experience.
- Previous customer-facing experience working directly with external clients.
- Strong practical fluency with LLMs (inference, fine-tuning, evals, agents) and their production implications (latency, quality, cost).
- Credibility with both customer engineers and executives.
- Focus on outcomes, comfort with ambiguity, and fast context-switching.
- High motivation and willingness to step up during demanding periods.
