Fireworks is seeking a Security Engineer to play a key role in designing, implementing, and operating security controls across AI infrastructure, AI platforms, and internal systems. This role is crucial for strengthening our security posture and supporting rapid growth, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data, models, and infrastructure as organizations increasingly rely on large language models and cloud-native AI services. You will be instrumental in building trust by embedding security across all layers of our technology stack.
Responsibilities
- Design and build security-focused software and platform capabilities for data, model, and service protection across multi-cloud infrastructure.
- Perform security reviews of cloud-native architectures and build integrated systems for continuous security monitoring and automated response.
- Embed security into CI/CD pipelines using DevSecOps principles for automated scanning and policy enforcement.
- Design and develop in-house security tooling and automation.
- Build and operate a comprehensive vulnerability management program to remediate risks.
- Operate and improve security operations, including detection engineering, incident response, and post-incident reviews.
- Participate in red/blue team exercises and incident analysis to enhance security resilience.
- Embed compliance and regulatory controls into infrastructure and product layers.
Requirements
- 3 to 7 years of experience in software engineering or security engineering with a focus on security, infrastructure, or cloud-native systems.
- Proficiency in Python and/or Go with experience in designing production-grade systems.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures using GCP, including network segregation, authentication, authorization, encryption, data protection, and intrusion detection.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized production environments.
- Familiarity with security tooling in managed CI/CD environments.
- Solid experience working in Linux environments, including system administration and automation.
- Familiarity with modern identity and access controls (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, SSO, RBAC/ABAC).
