Fireworks is seeking new graduates for its Member of Technical Staff role, offering a unique opportunity to work on real AI systems in production from day one. As an MTS, you will write and ship code for one of the world's busiest inference platforms, serving hundreds of models at massive scale. The company matches new hires to teams based on their strengths and interests, with potential work spanning inference, model training, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, or full-stack application engineering. You will be paired with a senior engineer mentor and undergo a structured ramp-up, starting with well-scoped problems and progressing to owning features and systems independently. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy features and services for customers.
- Take ownership of problems from ideation through to operation.
- Improve the performance, efficiency, and scalability of systems.
- Build with, on top of, or underneath large AI models, potentially involving serving, training, evaluation, or product development.
- Debug complex issues in unfamiliar codebases and failures.
- Collaborate with engineers, researchers, product teams, and customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, completed within the last 6 months or before the end of 2026.
- Strong programming fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and systems knowledge.
- Practical software engineering experience via internships, research, open-source contributions, or personal projects.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, C++, Go, Rust, TypeScript, or a comparable language.
- Fluency with AI coding harnesses and their effective use.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to seek help proactively.
- Comfort with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and high ownership.
