Fireworks is seeking a Head of Business Systems to establish and lead the technology foundation that enables company-wide scaling. This role will own the strategy and execution for business applications and workflows across Go-To-Market, Accounting & Finance, Data, and Operations teams, ensuring systems are scalable, integrated, secure, and aligned with business operations. A key focus will be integrating AI tools and capabilities into the enterprise technology ecosystem, evaluating and implementing AI tooling to enhance employee productivity and automate workflows while maintaining security and governance standards. This is a strategic leadership position requiring both high-level architecture and execution capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Define and own the company-wide business systems strategy, architecture, and multi-year roadmap.
- Establish a scalable application ecosystem across core functions, connecting upstream and downstream applications.
- Evaluate system acquisition, development, consolidation, integration, or retirement.
- Develop standards for system architecture, integrations, data ownership, automation, and application lifecycle management.
- Define an enterprise approach for evaluating and integrating AI tools, AI-enabled applications, and agentic capabilities into the business systems architecture.
- Own the portfolio of critical business applications, including platforms like Oracle Netsuite, Ironclad, and Ramp.
- Establish clear platform ownership, governance, administration, development, and support models.
- Improve the reliability, usability, scalability, and adoption of business-critical systems.
- Partner with Security and IT to ensure appropriate access controls, compliance, resilience, and vendor risk management.
- Establish standards for the adoption and administration of AI-enabled features and third-party AI tools connected to enterprise applications and company data.
- Partner with functional leaders to redesign workflows and eliminate unnecessary operational complexity.
- Identify opportunities to automate high-volume or manual processes using workflow platforms, APIs, AI, and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate and implement AI tooling, including AI assistants, copilots, intelligent workflow automation, and agentic solutions.
- Build reusable integration and automation capabilities.
- Establish metrics for process efficiency, system adoption, automation coverage, AI tooling adoption and impact, and operational quality.
- Create a coherent integration strategy across enterprise applications and data platforms.
- Improve the consistency and reliability of core business data across systems.
- Establish clear systems of record, data ownership, and governance for critical business entities.
- Define how AI tools and agents securely access, use, and interact with enterprise data, APIs, and systems of record.
- Partner with Data and Analytics teams to ensure operational systems produce trusted, accessible data.
- Lead major cross-functional systems initiatives such as CRM transformation, quote-to-cash, lead-to-revenue, procure-to-pay, hire-to-retire, financial systems modernization, AI-enabled workflow transformation, or global expansion.
- Develop clear business cases, program plans, governance structures, and success metrics for major investments.
- Coordinate stakeholders across business functions, Engineering, IT, Security, Finance, and external implementation partners.
- Ensure programs deliver measurable business outcomes.
- Build and lead a high-performing Business Systems organization.
- Define the operating model, organizational structure, and capabilities needed as the company scales.
- Hire, develop, and retain exceptional systems talent.
- Build AI fluency within the Business Systems organization and establish the technical capabilities required to evaluate, integrate, and operate AI-enabled solutions.
- Create a culture of strong ownership and customer orientation.
