Fireworks is seeking several Analytics Engineers to embed within various business functions, including Finance, Product-Led Growth, People, and Partnerships. In this role, you will act as a 'spoke' within a hub-and-spoke data organization, reporting to the central Data Platform team while working closely with your assigned function. You will be responsible for owning the analytics roadmap and execution for your domain, answering function-specific questions with data, and contributing to the platform's shared infrastructure and standards. This position offers the unique opportunity to gain deep domain ownership while benefiting from a robust underlying platform, ensuring your models align with company-wide data standards.
Responsibilities
- Own your function's data domain end-to-end, defining metrics, modeling data, and ensuring accountability for data origins.
- Build and maintain data pipelines using BigQuery and Coalesce, adhering to company data standards, definitions, and governance.
- Establish authoritative data models for your domain that reconcile with certified company definitions for accounts, usage, and revenue.
- Develop and maintain dashboards for your team to support business operations, ensuring data trustworthiness.
- Contribute to the development of shared platform frameworks, standards, and tooling.
- Proactively identify and communicate data variances, anomalies, mix shifts, and completeness gaps to stakeholders.
- Automate repetitive tasks using agentic and LLM-powered workflows, such as reconciliation, anomaly detection, and routine reporting.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, and/or data engineering.
- Strong SQL proficiency, including schema design, query writing, and warehouse optimization.
- Strong visualization proficiency for building effective business dashboards.
- Working knowledge of data engineering practices, including Git-based workflows and code review.
- Strong analytical thinking skills to decompose ambiguous problems and identify root causes.
- Clear communication skills to translate technical logic for non-technical stakeholders.
- A bias towards building systems to solve recurring manual work.
- Proficiency in Python for automation, data work, and integrations (preferred).
- Experience building LLM-powered agents or automation workflows on top of analytics (preferred).
- Experience with modern BI and transformation tools like Sigma, Looker, Tableau, dbt, or Coalesce (preferred).
- Background in AI infrastructure, developer tools, or usage-based billing (preferred).
