Figma is seeking an Engineering Manager for Design Systems Adherence to lead a team focused on building workflows, tools, and feedback loops that ensure customers' design and code correctly adhere to their design systems when using Figma's Agents. This role involves enhancing context engineering for AI, improving agent architecture, and developing datasets and evaluators to measure adherence. The manager will set strategy, elevate adherence measurement standards, and translate evaluation results into actionable improvements for design quality. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence Figma's Agent capabilities and overall design quality, addressing the critical need for design and code parity and minimizing drift from defined design systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of 6-8 engineers focused on Design Systems Adherence.
- Coach and develop engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and high-quality execution.
- Own and evolve design system context to make guidelines, examples, and documentation actionable for AI.
- Set the technical strategy for adherence measurement, including evaluation datasets, quality rubrics, and regression checks.
- Build benchmarking tools and dashboards to track design system adherence, visual quality, latency, and cost.
- Partner with Product, Design, and AI Research teams to achieve business impact.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience leading and growing high-impact engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience building AI assistants, evaluation systems, and using large language models.
- Fluency with modern AI development and evaluation workflows (context management, dataset curation, automated evaluators, benchmarking, regression testing).
- Strong software engineering foundation and a platform mindset.
- High quality bar for customer experience, data quality, and reliable measurement.
- Ability to set technical direction and drive cross-functional alignment in complex environments.
