About the job

Faire is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to focus on Enterprise AI, ensuring the safe and rapid adoption of AI technologies. This role involves owning and building the technical guardrails for AI platforms, enabling secure AI acceleration without introducing new exposures. You will have a significant voice in scaling AI safely, translating strategic direction into functional systems, standards, and controls. The position is ideal for someone who wants to directly manage AI platforms, build technical safeguards, and act as a trusted technical advisor for AI tool adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Faire's AI platforms (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI, Portkey, Fireworks), evaluating and enabling new features.
  • Partner with business units to manage model availability, control spend, and oversee MCPs, agentic identity, and audit logging.
  • Centralize MCP standards and infrastructure, defining internal launch standards and supporting custom MCP development.
  • Develop technical guardrails for secure AI use, including LLM safeguards, prompt injection detection, and blast radius controls for autonomous agents.
  • Serve as a key technical voice in evaluating new AI tools and data usage for security compliance, creating scalable frameworks and assessments.
  • Design and maintain secure environments for experimentation and developer guardrails, such as sandboxed environments and custom configurations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on agentic workflows and AI product features, providing reusable guardrails and reference patterns.
  • Engineer observability and visibility into AI usage and spend, capturing logs, building data pipelines, and setting up alerts in existing tools (e.g., Datadog, Snowflake, Mode).
  • Produce guidance and best practices for AI usage across Faire, suitable for leadership dissemination.
  • Stay current with the AI landscape, assessing new platform features and agent frameworks for security implications and business value.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in security engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or IT engineering.
  • Experience with platform administration and governance, including access controls, configurations, and operational health for critical platforms.
  • Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Ruby, Java) for building integrations and automations.
  • Experience designing scalable internal systems and infrastructure, solving problems at the platform level.
  • Experience with observability or SIEM tooling (e.g., Datadog, Splunk) and building data pipelines for monitoring and compliance.
  • Proven track record of owning and delivering technical workstreams end-to-end.
  • Ability to provide risk assessments and technical recommendations to leadership.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of LLM internals, transformer architectures, tokenization, context window management, RAG patterns, prompt engineering techniques, and associated security risks.
  • Prior experience in AI governance, AI enablement, or AI platform roles.
