Senior Applied ML/AI Scientist - Search

About the job

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the next-generation Search engine, integrating LLMs, query understanding, dense vector retrieval, deep personalization embeddings, multi-stage ranking, and reinforcement learning to serve personalized product feeds with <100ms latency.
• Own one or more search components end to end: problem framing, modeling, production code, experiment design, and roadmap decisions.
• Ship models to live traffic and use A/B tests to validate their value.
• Raise the team's bar through design reviews, pairing, and post-mortems.

Requirements

• 3+ years building production ML systems, with significant experience in search, recommendations, or a related retrieval-and-relevance domain.
• Shipped models that served real traffic and owned the experiments that proved their value.
• Depth in modern retrieval stack components such as dual encoders, ANN serving, LLM-based query understanding, or learning-to-rank fundamentals, with the ability to learn other areas.
• Strong Python skills and engineering capabilities to deploy models to production.
• Clear communication with scientists, engineers, and PMs, effectively articulating ideas and adapting to feedback.
• Excellent product judgment to align technical decisions with customer and business context.
