Extend is building a modern document processing cloud to transform how the world works with unstructured data. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the primary interface between customers and Extend throughout the customer lifecycle. This role is for engineers who are passionate about customer pain points, meticulous about details, highly autonomous, and driven to empower organizations with AI. You will tackle novel problems at the intersection of LLMs, complex data processing, and human-AI interfaces, playing a critical role in enabling enterprises to gain confidence in deploying AI and building solutions for complex edge cases.
Responsibilities
- Design and architect solutions for complex customer problems using Extend as the primary tool.
- Develop best practices for customer engagement and incorporate feedback across the team.
- Build strong relationships with end-users to understand their challenges and grow Extend's adoption within organizations.
- Serve as the main technical point of contact for customers during evaluation and Proof of Concept (POC) phases.
- Instill confidence in technical champions by addressing deep technical questions and requirements.
- Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues related to schemas, prompts, and processor configurations.
- Deliver compelling product demonstrations that clearly articulate technical value.
- Manage POCs from planning to execution, ensuring customer success criteria are met.
- Take full ownership of work, collaborating directly with leadership on customer success and enterprise relationships.
Requirements
- Ability to travel onsite as needed.
- Deep technical understanding of API architecture, security, parsing mechanisms, and on-prem deployments.
- Experience inspiring non-technical domain experts to adopt LLM-based solutions.
- Ability to help customers understand tradeoffs between latency, cost, and performance.
- Experience running and managing POCs from planning through execution.
