Extend is building a modern document processing platform reimagined with LLMs, aiming to transform how the world works with unstructured data. As an AI Engineer, you will be responsible for developing state-of-the-art document processing infrastructure and applied AI product features that impact millions of documents processed monthly. We seek creative engineers who stay current with AI research, prioritize real-world customer impact over pure theory, and are passionate about solving business challenges with AI.
Responsibilities
- Build a QA Agent to flag low confidence results.
- Deploy an optimizer agent in a loop to improve document performance.
- Create multimodal models for document layout awareness.
- Develop novel chunking strategies for handling long documents.
- Build data pipelines and evaluate model performance.
- Construct a self-correcting system that automatically improves over time.
- Design novel LLM techniques to expand the complexity of use cases and data streams.
- Monitor existing production models, identify issues, and run experiments to resolve them.
- Own large areas of product and engineering, with direct customer relationships.
- Collaborate with the CEO, CTO, and founding members to build out the team.
