Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a hands-on Full-Stack Senior Software Engineer to join their IT Software Engineering team. This role is a 100% individual contributor position focused on developing internal enterprise-grade applications and AI-powered bots using the Elastic Stack. The team is adopting a "Build and Buy" strategy, leveraging custom solutions to replace third-party software. You will lead the technical design, development, and deployment of full-stack web applications and conversational AI bots, taking complete operational ownership of production systems.
Responsibilities
- Build enterprise applications using React, TypeScript, and Node.js to replace legacy SaaS tools.
- Develop AI bots and workflows using LLMs, RAG, and vector search to automate employee tasks.
- Integrate internal applications with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
- Utilize AI coding assistants like Cursor, Claude, and Copilot to accelerate development.
- Write tests, manage CI/CD pipelines, use feature flags, and participate in on-call rotations.
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-stack development experience with React, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, including data modeling, indexing, query optimization, and Kibana integration.
- Practical experience with AI and bot engineering, including LLM APIs, vector search, RAG pipelines, or conversational bot frameworks.
- Daily proficiency with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, or GitHub Copilot.
- Experience with automated testing (React Testing Library, Cypress/Playwright), CI/CD, feature flags, and on-call rotations.
