Distyl AI is seeking creative researchers to push the envelope of AI utilization in enterprise. This role focuses on designing and investigating architectures where multiple agents coordinate to solve complex problems through structured interaction and reasoning. You will build systems that structure communication, route information, and coordinate decision-making across agents operating with different views of the problem. The work involves studying interaction patterns, how agents exchange information, critique reasoning, and coordinate execution across complex workflows to establish the design language for high-performing agent teams.
Responsibilities
- Design architectures for multi-agent systems with coordinated problem-solving.
- Build systems for structuring communication, routing information, and coordinating agent decisions.
- Investigate agent interaction patterns for collaboration, information exchange, and critique.
- Establish the design language for cohesive, high-performing agent teams.
Requirements
- Experience building or studying systems with multiple collaborating agents through structured communication, delegation, critique, or iterative coordination.
- Experience with agent orchestration, communication protocols, evaluator agents, or multi-agent interaction systems.
- Research experience in multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL), graph neural networks (GNNs), knowledge graphs, or mixed-initiative planning.
- Demonstrated track record of research results (publications, public work).
- Daily use of AI tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, and Perplexity.
- Strong programming and data analysis skills for prototyping and experimentation.
- Bias towards demonstrating AI capabilities over theoretical discussion.
