Deepgram is seeking an early-career engineer to revolutionize its People Operations through AI and automation. This role involves partnering directly with the Head of People to identify, design, and build AI-powered workflows that will transform how People Ops functions. You will focus on creating intelligent systems that sit on top of existing HRIS and People platforms, converting manual, repetitive processes into efficient, automated workflows using AI, automation, APIs, internal tools, and agents. This is a hands-on position for someone passionate about building, experimenting, and significantly enhancing work efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Identify high-impact opportunities to apply AI and automation across People Operations in partnership with the People & Talent Team.
- Develop a scalable and exceptional AI-first onboarding experience.
- Automate manual People workflows into AI-powered systems.
- Create AI agents and workflows to answer questions, gather information, initiate processes, and complete defined actions.
- Integrate AI systems with existing tools such as HRIS, Slack, and performance management systems.
- Build internal tools and interfaces to simplify People processes for employees, managers, and the People team.
- Prototype solutions rapidly, test with users, gather feedback, and iterate.
- Implement human-in-the-loop controls, escalation paths, permissions, and safeguards for sensitive People workflows.
- Collaborate with Engineering and IT on architecture, security, access controls, and productionizing prototypes.
- Measure the impact of built solutions on time savings, employee experience, and operational quality.
Requirements
- Early-career engineer with a passion for building and experimenting.
- Comfortable adopting new AI models and modes quickly.
- Ability to integrate AI into workflows and push technological boundaries.
- Willingness to experiment, adapt, think on your feet, and learn constantly.
- Experience building systems that sit on top of HRIS or traditional People systems.
- Familiarity with AI, automation, APIs, internal tools, and agents.
- Ability to work across People, Engineering, IT, and other functions.
- Understanding of building secure and scalable solutions.
- Experience with prototyping, user testing, and iteration.
- Knowledge of establishing human-in-the-loop controls, escalation paths, permissions, and safeguards.
- Experience partnering with Engineering and IT on architecture, security, and productionizing.
