Databricks is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Fullstack to join a new, nimble team in their NYC office. This role will be instrumental in building new AI products from the ground up, leveraging Databricks' data and AI infrastructure to create vertical AI applications for both technical and business users. Responsibilities
- Create novel interfaces for GenAI agents that manage complex workflows with human oversight.
- Partner with product management, design, and engineering teams to build scalable and extensible solutions.
- Lead full-stack software development to create dynamic, user-centric experiences.
- Develop mechanisms for product-led growth through seamless onboarding and sharing.
- Influence the direction of agentic applications at Databricks.
- Establish best practices for building AI products within the team and company-wide.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Demonstrated product mindset with the ability to translate customer problems into MVPs and iterate quickly.
- Focus on making AI features intuitive, trustworthy, and helpful.
- High ownership and bias for action in 0→1 environments, comfortable with ambiguity and driving projects from idea to launch.
- Strong collaboration skills across product, engineering, and design teams.
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, VueJs/Ember).
- 10+ years of experience with server-side web technologies (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python, Scala, C#, C++, Go).
- Proven experience building and shipping end-to-end generative AI products, ideally with a significant UI/UX component.
- Experience developing deep product and business knowledge to connect abstract modeling with business value.
