About the job

Databricks is seeking an engineer to help lead the development of the data and agent layer for enterprise digital advertising. This role involves building solutions to address the significant data and intelligence gaps in advertising campaign performance, which currently relies on slow, manual, and often inaccurate processes. You will be instrumental in creating systems that ingest, normalize, aggregate, and analyze advertising data at scale, enabling better decision-making and optimization for enterprises spending billions on digital ads.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the ingest and normalization of advertising platform data, handling issues like rate limits, schema drift, backfills, and restated numbers.
  • Design aggregation and identity layers to ensure comparability of figures from different advertising platforms.
  • Lead the development of agentic workflows for parsing, interpreting, presenting, and acting on performance data.
  • Establish correctness and evaluation standards in a domain with noisy and partially observable ground truth.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and other engineering teams to build scalable and extensible solutions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of engineering experience, including tech lead roles on complex enterprise software projects.
  • Hands-on experience with major advertising APIs (Meta, Google, Amazon, TikTok) or equivalent from advertiser, agency, or DSP side.
  • Working knowledge of ad tech data models (campaign hierarchies, attribution windows, conversion APIs, deduplication).
  • Familiarity with measurement approaches like MTA, MMM, incrementality testing, and privacy-preserving aggregation.
  • Experience shipping LLM-powered systems to production, including evaluation and guardrails.
  • High ownership and bias for action in 0→1 environments, comfortable with pragmatic trade-offs and incomplete information.
  • Strong collaboration skills across product, engineering, and design teams.
  • Technical and people leadership experience (e.g., TLM) is a plus.
  • Experience building or operating measurement infrastructure is a plus.
  • Background in experimentation or causal inference is a plus.

Benefits

  • Eligibility for annual performance bonus
  • Equity
  • Comprehensive benefits and perks
