Databricks is seeking an AI Forward Deployed Engineering (AI FDE) professional to join a specialized customer-facing AI team. This role involves delivering professional services to help customers build and productionize AI applications, working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams. The ideal candidate is passionate about customer engagement, collaboration, and staying current with GenAI and LLMOps trends. This position can be remote, but requires periodic on-site work in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, or Virginia metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
- Develop cutting-edge GenAI solutions using Databricks AI research to solve customer problems.
- Manage production rollouts of GenAI applications for consumers and internal use.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers across various domains.
- Present at conferences and establish thought leadership.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to influence priorities and product roadmap.
Requirements
- Experience building GenAI applications (RAG, multi-agent systems, Text2SQL, fine-tuning) with tools like HuggingFace, LangChain, and DSPy.
- Expertise in deploying production-grade GenAI applications, including evaluation and optimization.
- Extensive hands-on industry data science experience with tools such as pandas, scikit-learn, and PyTorch.
- Experience building production-grade machine learning deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Graduate degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Willingness to travel periodically (once every 4-8 weeks) to see customers.
