About the job
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and work on Bugbot, an AI-powered tool that reviews pull requests, identifies bugs, and suggests improvements for professional programmers. As LLMs continue to advance, Bugbot's capabilities are rapidly expanding. This full-stack role involves maintaining Bugbot as the leading AI code reviewer by contributing to model integration, agent harness improvements, product UI, integrations, and the onboarding experience. You will ship features end-to-end and directly influence how millions of engineers use AI in their code review process.
Responsibilities
- Launch new Bugbot features end-to-end, from defining the feature and building the UI to wiring up the backend and iterating on model behavior.
- Evolve the review pipeline by adapting prompting strategies, model routing, context selection, and agent orchestration to leverage new capabilities while managing cost and latency.
- Build integrations to embed Bugbot into engineer workflows, making AI-assisted review a seamless part of the development loop.
- Own product quality and reliability by monitoring precision and recall, triaging false positives, improving observability, and ensuring Bugbot earns trust.
- Design onboarding and adoption flows to drive teams from initial installation to daily active usage.
- Partner with ML, infrastructure, and product teams to inform model improvements with real-world data, shape the Bugbot roadmap, and scale the system.
- Own Bugbot's product surface end-to-end, including features, integrations, review pipeline, onboarding, configuration, and the user experience of AI code review.
- Be obsessive about making Bugbot's output genuinely useful and improving evaluation metrics.
Requirements
- Experience building or working on agents that integrate into the code review or CI/CD workflow.
- Proven ability to ship full-stack product features end-to-end, comfortable working across frontend, backend, and model integration.
- Deep care for developer experience and collecting feedback from customers and internal team members.
- Ability to balance shipping quickly for learning with maintaining user trust by avoiding bad suggestions.
- Experience launching a product or feature to external users and owning the full lifecycle: onboarding, documentation, feedback, and iteration.
