Cursor is seeking a Product Education Engineer to bridge the gap between their rapidly evolving AI coding tools and developer understanding. This role involves creating technical content and hands-on experiences, such as code walkthroughs, labs, workshops, and tutorials, to foster deep developer fluency with Cursor. Unlike traditional education roles, this position requires engineers who can act as subject matter experts, diving deep into the product, customers, and engineering teams. You will be the internal source of truth for product changes and will partner with Product, Engineering, DevRel, and Go-to-Market teams to ensure new capabilities are launched with clear educational framing and adoption paths. The goal is to drive measurable outcomes by helping engineering organizations effectively adopt AI coding tools.
Responsibilities
- Build Cursor's technical learning library including code walkthroughs, tutorials, labs, workshops, reference implementations, and instructor-led training.
- Develop high-quality demos, reference implementations, and workflow automations, utilizing Cursor in the development process.
- Lead workshops, technical deep dives, and enablement sessions to help engineering organizations adopt AI coding tools.
- Serve as the technical translation layer between Product and the field, ensuring Field Engineers, ADMs, and Solutions Architects are up-to-speed on product changes.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, DevRel, and Go-to-Market teams before major launches to ensure educational framing and adoption paths.
- Contribute technical guides, patterns, and best practices to Cursor's public technical content.
- Design learning experiences for both technical and non-technical users, including engineering leaders and PMs.
- Experiment with new educational formats like in-product learning, interactive experiences, and AI-native tutorials.
- Provide feedback to Product and Engineering on developer pain points and adoption blockers.
- Measure the effectiveness of educational content based on adoption and fluency gains.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Consulting, technical enablement, or software engineering at a developer tools or platform company.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, modern engineering org structures, and the impact of AI coding tools.
- Active power user of AI coding tools with a customized developer workflow.
- A clear perspective on what makes engineers more productive.
- Experience building high-signal demos, integrations, and prototypes, preferably using AI coding tools.
- Proven ability to deliver large, high-impact workshops or technical training to engineering teams.
- Experience building enablement infrastructure, including demo environments and automation tooling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts.
- Comfort with ambiguous and rapidly evolving problem spaces.
- Strong focus on customer success and operational excellence.
- A builder mindset with a bias for experimenting with new educational formats.
