About the job
Crusoe is seeking a Principal Enterprise Technology Architect to establish and guide the technical vision for our internal business systems. This senior individual contributor role is pivotal in defining how our Finance, Construction, Operations, and People platforms connect, scale, and evolve. You will be responsible for designing a unified architecture that integrates these currently siloed systems, establishing master data models, engineering a scalable, event-driven integration layer, and building governance frameworks, including the responsible introduction of AI. This is a greenfield role focused on architectural design, producing artifacts like ERDs, context diagrams, and sequence flows, before implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery for major system initiatives, producing high-fidelity artifacts (ERDs, system context diagrams, data flow maps, sequence diagrams).
- Assess platform limitations and define future paths, including optimization, re-platforming, or building custom integration layers.
- Serve as the primary technical evaluator during software procurement, assessing vendors on API robustness, data model flexibility, and security.
- Identify and document integration debt and develop a roadmap for its resolution.
- Participate in Architecture Review Board discussions to ensure system changes align with enterprise standards.
- Partner with SMEs and administrators to define a unified master data approach.
- Co-develop reusable integration patterns, error-handling frameworks, and self-healing workflows.
- Drive integration architecture towards API-first, event-driven patterns (REST, webhooks/pub-sub).
- Define internal system authentication and communication, enforcing secure API standards (OAuth 2.0, REST/SOAP).
- Identify opportunities to embed AI into enterprise systems (workflow automation, intelligent document processing, enterprise copilots, natural-language interfaces).
- Contribute enterprise architecture perspective to AI evaluations (agentic AI, RAG, LLM integration patterns, orchestration frameworks).
- Co-develop governance standards for AI use within enterprise systems.
- Partner with InfoSec and Data teams to ensure AI-enabled workflows meet privacy, security, and audit requirements.
- Serve as the go-to architecture and integration resource for complex cross-system initiatives.
- Conduct design and configuration reviews.
Requirements
- Experience as a Principal Enterprise Technology Architect or similar senior architecture role.
- Proven ability to design and implement unified architectures for integrated business systems.
- Expertise in defining master data models and integration patterns.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and API-first design principles.
- Familiarity with secure API standards such as OAuth 2.0, REST, and SOAP.
- Experience in evaluating software vendors and assessing technical capabilities.
- Understanding of AI integration patterns, RAG, and LLM technologies.
- Ability to contribute to AI governance frameworks and standards.
- Strong collaboration and technical advisement skills.
- Experience working with enterprise platforms like Oracle, Coupa, Procore, Rippling.
