About the job
CoreWeave is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Developer Experience (DevEx) team. This team is responsible for the platform, services, and systems that empower all engineers at CoreWeave to build and ship software efficiently and reliably. The scope includes CI/build infrastructure, testing, delivery systems, artifact management, internal developer platforms, and AI tooling. This role is for a technical leader who will define the technical strategy for DevEx, address complex developer productivity challenges, and shape the future of the agentic developer platform.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical strategy for the DevEx platform, including CI, test experience, delivery systems, artifact management, and agentic developer tooling.
- Solve complex developer productivity problems by identifying systemic bottlenecks and designing scalable, reliable solutions across multiple data centers.
- Lead the technical evolution of the agentic developer platform, enhancing MCP servers, tool integration, and DevEx APIs for autonomous workflows.
- Drive cross-team technical initiatives, aligning with DevEx, infrastructure, security, SRE, and product engineering on platform direction and standards.
- Mentor and develop Senior II engineers, elevating technical decision-making and building engineering depth.
- Proactively identify and mitigate technical debt and reliability risks to improve platform resilience and developer trust.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a focus on building and owning production developer platforms, build infrastructure, or large-scale distributed systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to define and execute multi-year technical strategies across complex, cross-team domains.
- Deep systems design expertise, with strong opinions on correctness, scalability, maintainability, API design, service architecture, and platform abstractions.
- Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages, with a track record of shipping large-scale production services in cloud-native environments.
- Expertise in Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) at the platform design level, understanding scheduler, API machinery, and extension points.
- Experience with or strong leadership interest in AI-native developer tooling, including agentic frameworks, LLM-integrated workflows, or autonomous software development agents.
- Proven ability to influence technical decisions organization-wide, build alignment across teams, and communicate effectively with engineering leadership.
