About the job
As an AI Engineer at CoreWeave, you will design, build, and operate systems that engineers rely on during real customer incidents. This role involves defining the balance between deterministic and AI systems, owning agent logic, retrieval mechanisms, safeguards against bad information, and performance measurement. You will have full ownership of your services from development through production, working closely with the engineers who will use your creations.
Responsibilities
- Design and build AI agents to investigate and act on customer issues.
- Develop safeguards for AI systems, grounding output in data and requiring human approval for actions.
- Build and evaluate retrieval systems using historical support data.
- Determine the optimal balance between AI and deterministic logic in systems.
- Instrument systems for quality, cost, and adoption, and use insights for future development.
- Deploy and operate services on Kubernetes, providing production support.
- Collaborate with support engineers and domain experts, observing live investigations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Go or Python.
- Experience taking AI applications from prototype to production and supporting them.
- Hands-on experience with agent patterns like tool/function calling and multi-step orchestration.
- Experience building and evaluating retrieval systems.
- Experience designing controls for production automation, including approval steps and audit trails.
- Experience diagnosing and fixing failures in LLM applications.
- Experience with observability for LLM applications (tracing, cost, latency).
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes and CI/CD deployment.
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs, including authentication and secrets handling.
